Stewart Brand
It's always worth listening to one of the great pioneers of our time, Stewart Brand. A World Made of Cities is a summary of his lecture on the role of cities in slowing population growth and allowing the rural poor to escape poverty, and Environmental Heresies in which he states: Over the next ten years, I predict, the mainstream of the environmental movement will reverse its opinion and activism in four major areas: population growth, urbanization, genetically engineered organisms, and nuclear power.
