It occurred to me the other day how similar motor vehicles are to bullies when it comes to pedestrians and cyclists. Motorists use their advantage, size and weight, to intimidate pedestrians. They do things that they wouldn't dare do if they were walking. And most pedestrians realize their disadvantage in these situations and they simply wait until the ogre passes. When I assert my rights as a pedestrian, that's when these bullys really get upset. “How dare you walk in front of me and slow ME down!”. They beauty of Google is that I can usually find someone out there who thinks along the same lines: Crosswalk is a Stop Sign for Motorists.
