For some reason I couldn't help asking the group of people waiting in line to check their cars in for service whose car was idling outside. People are so oblivious to their bad habits, thinking nothing of leaving a car idling for 20 minutes parked at the curb while they run an errand. I told the guilty party that it was illegal to leave a car unattended while idling and that it was bad for the environment (yes, I actually said that). He grumbled but did agree to turn it off. The really funny part was when he returned, the service man accused him of cutting in line.
